MCS Teacher AwardedMr. Douglas R. Kump -- MCS history teacher, speech and debate coach -- has been awarded a Coach Workshop Scholarship by the National Forensic League to Harvard University in Cambridge, MA to train with the nation's top speech and debate educators! The scholarship was awarded competitively to outstanding speech and debate coaches based on applications to the program. Mr. Kump is one of just 66 Coaches Workshop Scholarship recipients from across the country.
Coach Inducted into Hall of FameBoys' Varsity Basketball Coach Stu Vetter has been inducted into the Washington, DC Metropolitan Basketball Hall of Fame. Coach Vetter joins local legends Len Bias, Phil Chenier, Rich Chvotkin, Bob Ferry, Johnny Holliday, and Earl Lloyd as an inductee this year. From DC Basketball: "Vetter is the architect of four nationally ranked programs. He has been named coach of the year twice by USA Today and he holds the longest winning streak in the Washington DC area of 59 games. Vetter is not only known for all these great achievements, but for also teaching and developing players". In Memoriam: Robert D. Crowley, Pastor Emeritus (1931-2011)Robert Crowley was the Senior Pastor of Montrose for 39 years (1956-1995). He was a faithful husband, father, and pastor. He faithfully preached the Bible as the divinely inspired Word of God. He was also the founder of Montrose Christian School. Under his leadership Montrose had a tremendous impact for the Kingdom of Christ. |
